I have only had mine for 4 months now, but by using the digital gauges, I can get much better millage than the sticker states. I think that for an SUV, it is quiet and I can hear the Serius Radio at minimal volumes. Show me an SUV that doesn't have some bump absorption and I will show you someone that hasn't driven other SUV's. I have driven many other SUV's and none rode as nicely to me. We have a Hyundai Sante' Fe 4x4 and it doesn't hold a candle to the Escape XLT 4X4. The real acid test will be in the Winter with high snow amounts. I have had alot of different SUV's and I really like this one. My payments aren't bad either at 250.00 per month. Give the Escape XLT 4x4 a real test. It handles turns almost as good as my Fusion.

After test driving models from the various manufacturers I decided to try this one. I bought it on the spot! I find that it offers the best value of any SUV in this segment. Two years ago I drove an Escape from Miami to N.Y. The 08 blows that one away. The 08 is an incredible improvement! This SUV puts my faith back in Ford!

This escape is a great buy people looking for a small suv should really look in to buying this one it's got great handleing and appearamce is a good look tough looking suv not like some small suvs that look like little min vans that are so boring the value of this escape is great i would say this is the best suv in it's class and it's got good mpg too.

I just bought a 08 XLT with the Sirius Satellite and Moon Roof package. I couldn't be happier with it! It's an absolute joy to drive. I have the metallic silver paint with the stone interior and at first I wasn't too happy with the inside color, but it has grown on me quickly. It looks really sharp and is easy to keep clean. The two tone cloth seats and convienance package makes it feel more like a luxury vehicle. For this being my first SUV, I love the fact that it feels like I'm driving a mid size car and I don't feel like I'm driving a boat down the road. I also love the new all around side curtain airbags. I feel much safer driving my new car than I did in my 03 Protege. Only downside that I wish was different was the gas mileage and acceleration power. Even though I have a V6, it has less get up and go than my 4 cylinder compact car. I also do a lot of highway driving and only average about 19.6 mpg. I was expecting to average more in the 21-23 mpg range, but I also know that it's not an economy size car. I'm definatly very happy with my purchase and I look forward to driving it for many more years!

Just bought the 2008 Limited, Black Pearl Slate Metallic with the charcoal interior and all the bells and whistles except for the navigation system. This is my third Escape after a 2001 and a 2005. The 05 was only 2 years old so really didn't need this but wanted it and so now it's in my garage. So far it is miles above the last generation (which was pretty good) in terms of comfort, ride quality, performance, and ergonomics. The new interior is a home run and the new "butched up" exterior, which I wasn't wild about at first, has grown on me and looks much better in person than in photographs. If you can swing it, get the Audiophile 7 speaker sound system - totally worth the extra bucks. A winner all the way around.
